The George Tavern is a family run, local pub in the heart of Stepney in London’s East End. Situated on the corner of Commercial Road and Jubilee Street, formerly known as the Halfway House, The George still contains original brickwork from the Halfway House – a tavern some 700 years old, mentioned by Chaucer, Pepys and Dickens.
A public house, music, performance and arts venue famous for photo shoots and filming, The George has hosted countless events and well know artists including the likes of Plan B and John Copper Clarke to name just a few. A favourite haunt of Kate Moss and the late Amy Winehouse, The George is always full of creative minds, new and old to share a drink with and discuss new ideas. You just never know who you might bump into…
